Featuring youth voices published in the Blue Marble Review, this anthology collection celebrates student writing and invites readers to reflect on how we find our place in the world, and the ways those places change as the years go by.

All of us move through the world in ever changing spaces— our schools, communities, friends, families, workplaces, and life experiences constantly evolving, and our lives being shaped and shifted by these changes as well as the passage of time.

But what does this look like exactly? How does our place in the world look after a great personal loss, a discovery, a wildfire, graduation, becoming a teenager, having a life changing travel experience, moving out, or going on a road trip? Is the future hopeful, dystopian, or uncertain?

Turns out there’s much to say about the literal and metaphorical places we inhabit as time passes, and this book, our second anthology, is a treasury of students’ imagining, creating, and revising their place in the world.

In this wide range of work from youth creatives—poems, art, personal essays, and imaginative short stories— each piece is imbued with the unique experiences of living on this blue marble we call home.

Blue Marble Review was established as an online literary magazine in 2015. We celebrated FIVE YEARS of publishing with the release of our first anthology in 2020. The work in our five-year anthology was selected from a large collection of creative writing and art. In these pages, students examine their life experiences, reflect on complicated relationships, share aspirations, and look back on things left behind. Their writing embodies the humor, awkwardness, empathy, discovery, heartbreak and hope of young people becoming.

Because of the large volume of published work we knew this book couldn't encompass all the best of, our five years, but instead would be a first of, what we hope to be several anthologies including work from our talented student writers.

Thank you!— to our writers from all over the world for having the courage to send us their creative work, and to the many readers who've supported our mission from the beginning. Our aim has always been to be a platform to showcase the talents of young creatives, and we're honored not only to continue our online lit journal, but to introduce our first print collection celebrating student writers.
